Okay, here's the promo cds thread again as I cannot find the older one at the moment.

can you help us telling us some good addresses to send some promo stuff to?

self-promotion is no problem at all.

all we require:

- a release of the upcoming issue within the next three months or less.

I still have some 100+ addresses from my times when I did promo for Undercover Records, but most of these are probably out of date. I will check them, of course.

unfortunately I do not have time to gather all of them, so I think your recommendations will help us to get the shit out a bit faster. thanks.

I had a similar thread a few days ago and it received maybe 3 responses.

Just Google for zines/webzines.

I can't say for certain if we'll have an issue out within three months, but we are at least nearing the home stretch...

Do people really read webzines to tell them what metal is good enough to buy?

I sure have. The magazine has been a while since it was last published but I'll see the editor guy later at Absu so can find out more about what's happening with it for you.

I did that back then when I was working for UR, but these days I do not have as much spare-time as I had back then. just last night I needed about 6 hours to find a handful of worthy ones. and I bet I will need about 60+ more hours to find more. but time is very little...

thanks...

What's the difference? From my experience good advice transcends the medium, and print zines don’t necessarily guarantee that the covered material is going to be reliable.

Reading anothers opinion on a album or subject is not exactly as worthy as your own opinion formed by actually listening to a sample of the band in question. Hence the importance of employing a website even if it has to be the unquestionably affordable dreaded and feared myspace system.

You can spend hours reading some other bag of waters tripe on a subject and find it to be meaningless after one simple listen using your own ears and processing system where music is concerned.

Magazines should be only columns of this...

Band Name :
Sample Link :
Genre/Style :
References/ Similar to :

All that blather of someone else's opinion was for a time before you could instantly access the actual music in seconds for yourself and see what the deal is.
