Antediluvian and Mitochondrion are both killer. Both are from Canada but you all look the same to me. Beady eyes and floppy heads....

Any contact for Antediluvian? They sent me a demo eons ago (2007ish) and I wouldn't mind hearing what they're up to today.

Thanks for all of the recomendations!

Is it me, or are there not a lot of new DM bands in America AT ALL????

The old guard is still holding it down quite well...for the most part.

If I had asked about new USBM bands, there would be 15 pages!

Indeed, I just came in here to post them, wondering why they haven't been mentioned, and then I get all the way to the last post and see that they have. Razz

Are they even in the US still?
Last I heard their members are in seperate countries. .

Aside from them, majority of upcoming US bands are shit.
Total slamcore bro8tal garbage.

Yeah, of pretty much all the countries that had strong death metal scenes in the early 90s, the US has probably been the slowest to pick up on the resurgence, which is unfortunate because a LOT of my favorite old school death metal bands are from the states. Funebrarum (first LP specifically) and Vasaeleth are two bands that, in my opinion, really bring back the American occult sound that Incantation and Morpheus Descends laid out and I seriously wish more would go by their example. Decrepitaph I also like a lot because their LP is one of the few albums that I can compare to old Cianide.

Hell, if things don't start looking up for us then I'll start my own band Cool.

DOWN WITH SLAM.

Especially in my neck of the woods it was hard. It took months of musicians adds to find some guys to start a traditional death metal band with. Everyone here wanted to do deathcore/slam/tech nonsense.

I know, and it's tragic Sad.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about Martyrvore. I haven't listened to them in a while but they seemed to be off on the right foot from what I remember listening to. They don't seem to have a place online for samples but I think their compilation should be easy to find.

Slam death/core is the death of death metal, I cannot for the life of me understand that horrible shit.

Antediluvian is fucking great, archaic sounding... As the name implies. Wink

Lots of VASAELETH updates coming soon. 2010 will be a busy year.

The album is FINISHED and will happen shortly following the 7inch release.
