speaking about black metal strictly, it was Necromass in 94 in my hometown, don't remember the supporting band.

Bathory played live at a music store opening in Stockholm 1987.

I've seen footage of Quorthorn at a record signing I guess it was. The video was reallly long and boring, but novel to see him mixing with people etc. Had the big hair too from meomry he he, but there was no performance in this footage. Was it from the same event?

I think I've seen it also, but this was taking place in Portugal. Some friend of mine even spotted the (back then teens) Decayed and/or Moonspell guys in the fans crowd.

This signing session is also on the DVD in the Bathory box that Black Mark put out couple of years ago.

First was probably in 2005 or 2006, Flame, Evil Angel, Wounds and Stench of Decay in Pori. Not all of those are Black Metal bands but anyway..

Marduk in Salzburg, Austria in '98 out of pure desperation. If you live in Bavaria you know why.

well, don't remember much i was really young and wasn't into black metal at that time. but i do remember them playing deathcrush and a violent moshpit, that will never get away from my mind. a friend told me all about nebiros later.the other highlight was the after show stabbing of a guy.

These were upstairs right? I remember being very let down by SATYRICONs performance.Saw them a few years later in the big hall with MORBID ANGEL, I think?, and they were great. That IMMORTAL gig was with KRISIUN and ANGELCORPSE and it was killer from start to finish.Waiting in line to get in I noticed three people kind of lurking in a corner with the dimbest looking corpsepaint I had ever seen.About an hour later, I saw them inside the gig and it wasn't corpsepaint, they were JUGGALOES!!!!! Laughing ICP was playing the next day and these idiots not only showed up at the wrong gig, but paid to get in expecting ICP.It was a long night for them once word got out they were there.

Yeah, there were some technical difficulties during Satyricon too if I remember correctly. I also remember the drummer from my old band excitingly telling me about Abbath walking out into the wintertime Worcester downtown, shirtless and in corpsepaint, despite one of the bouncers warning him about how he might get shot looking like that. I believe his response was an incoherent grunt. I'm sure the Worcester crackheads probably just thought he was a wrestler or something.

a couple of my friends were in amsterdam and saw immortal with hellhammer on drums on that morbid angel tour . . . they said the sound was so shitty, you couldn't figure out what they were even playing. i was too poor to go on that trip. my friend tim brought back a bunch of pot seeds taped to his taint.
