Your first BLACK METAL show?
If you can, name the date, city, venue and bands that played.
For me it was :
July 23rd 1995 in NYC @ the long gone Wetlands.
It was the first NY shows for ENSLAVED and ABSU.
I even have the sets from both bands on VHS somewhere.
Incantation were also on the bill and possibly Candiria and Human Remains. I have the flyer somewhere too! _________________ Too Old, Too Cold |

I have, in fact, never seen a black metal show. |

My first Black Metal concert was Samael live 04.04.1994.
There were nearly no Black Metal concerts here in Southern Germany until 94/95. Then all of a sudden, you had tour-packages and killer concerts each month once or even twice.
The Stuttgart gig of the infamous Fuck Christ tour (Blasphemy/Rotting Christ/Immortal) in December 93 got somehow cancelled, else this would have been the first one... _________________ Tradelist + Good Traders:

Morbosidad at Kimo's, some time around 2000/2001 maybe. Missed a ton of great shows in the Bay Area after I moved here in '95 while I was ignoring metal. |

hmm, technically, probably Demonic Christ and Dysphoria at the Thirsty Whale in River Grove, Illinois June 11, 1995 . . . i recorded it on a walkman and there's a bootleg floating around of that tape. I think maybe Xenomorph might have been on that show too, but i didn't tape them.
the next one would have been July 20, 1995, same location with Enslaved, Absu, Kataklysm and Incantation. no tape of that one, sorry. Absu and Kataklysm were insanely good, Incantation was Incantation and Enslaved SUCKED. Trym kept stopping in the middle of the songs for no reason and the band sort of got laughed off stage . . . i don't know what his problem was. _________________ http://www.ugEXPLODE.com

If you count Corpse Molestation, which was def not strictly a BM band, and by their own token probably not at ALL a BM band, I saw them in '93, so I guess that was my first if there's any leeway on them being a BM band. I guess if Blasphemy and Beherit are, then Corpse could fit the mold. _________________ Ashes to ashes

I missed that show, but my first show ever was at the Thristy Whale (which is long gone unfortunatly).... Morbid Angel, At The Gates, and Dissection.
So, I guess since Dissection was on the bill, it was my first black metal show as well. _________________
