Sodom will always be the best teutonic thrash band. And they still kick ass live.

I assume it's pretty healthy for everyone to pretend most of the old thrash metal bands disbanded in 199x and to ignore their discography from that point on.

Sodom are the only first wave/old guard active band still worth taking notice of.

The last decayed of new material hasn't been great, but better than most of their peers.

Does the thought that "there are shittier things than this, somewhere on planet Earth" really make you enjoy their mediocre at best stuff? Rolling Eyes

My favorite metal band from Germany, that said I wish they had made more songs in German.

While I acknowledge that their output in the last decade is still very solid in comparison to other major thrash metal bands, M-16 was the last one I fully enjoyed (not to mention The Final Sign of Evil, but I didn't include it since it was not new material). But I also must say, even though I don't enjoy the last few albums, none of them turned out to be complete abominations like Renewal/Endorama, Risk, Roots, etc.

In the end, Sodom to me, have always been THE perfect thrash metal band, and even their "mediocre" stuff still shits on all most of today's bands. It's just that they've raised the standarts to such heights in their heyday, so it's difficult to reach those levels again.

I actually like Renewal much more than Kreator's 1987-1990 material.
Stark album.

Been listening to Tapping The Vein lately. Some of the tracks are downright pummeling.

It sounds good to me! Love the artwork. That cover was made for the Lp format.

It's one of their very best. Even stronger than Agent Orange in my opinion.

Tapping The Vein was my introduction to the band. It's my favorite record that came after Persecution Mania for sure.

Anyone know if Wax Maniax are going to do second pressings of ITSOE?

I know there are a few out there on Discogs still.

TAPPING THE VEIN kills Agent Orange. AO, while still good, sounds to upbeat to me.
