The main man behind Furze may be border line retarded, but I still think he crafts some honest, passionate sounding bm, straight out of Norway. To tell you the truth I don't have any idea what kind of vibe you're going to get from the band but I think it would be worth exploring for sure. Furze probably lacks some of the bombast that comes with an Emperor or Dimmu album, but I think he infuses a lot of personality and uniqueness into his stuff without it being indulgent or boring. Trident Autocrat is pretty straight forward and to the point. UTD gets a bit weirder but keeps up the pace and intensity for the full duration. Necromanzee Cogent is a fucking trippy, dirgy, wonderful mess that I can't even really explain, you'll just have to try that one out on your own. I'd recommend doing so under the influence of a drug. Doesn't really matter which.

Aside from that, I don't really know? I see a lot of praise for Tsjuder and they do have the Norwegian sound down with absolutely no frills.

Allfader.

I think this is pretty awesome... (from Norway, but not traditional sound/style)

Nothing personal, but this was some of the most hair-raisingly STUPID shit I've heard in a long time. It's like someone forced Hatebreed to play 'Black' Metal.

I'm guessing every Allfader song stops with a fade-out?

Tymah from Hungary is also worth a try. I liked "Transylvanian Dreams" and their demo "Funeral Fog" quite a lot. Pure Mayhem DMDS and Darkthrone worship but very energetic to my ears.

Yeah, yeah. I know it's cliche'. The album cover and title is even worse.

I enjoy it sporadically. But then again, I enjoy Stan Bush, too.

I used to have one of their albums and thought it had great ideas but was too half-assed and improvised in parts to really constitute a great album for me. The whole project just comes off as a bit too silly for my tastes as a whole.

furze is fucking great. i welcome the deranged border-line humor aspect of his stuff when its accompanied by such a unique creative vision, high level of musicianship, and such obvious homage to the masters.

then again i also really dislike emperor (except demos), satyricon (except for rebel extravaganza), and dimmu.
the last thing to come to mind as the pride of norway...

there's been a lot of hype around them in the past but if you want old-school atmospheric maybe check out paysage d'hiver and related?

Tsjuder's early work (Kill for Satan, Demonic Possession) are both pretty good...but the last one (Desert Northern Hell ?) was pure Marduk styled blandness. Just fast and blasting the whole way with no atmosphere at all.
