International US postage rates, as well as priority and express in the US are "changing" on January 4th. Which usually means, going up.

Was this Hellion Records bitching about shipping costs? They are nearly impossible to deal with.
So, a German company wanted to buy 10x LPs, 5x 7"s, and 10x CDs. I quoted $60 for shipping, and they complained and canceled the order.

Annoying, but not a big deal.

I posted above wondering if the cost would be similar if the shipment went in the other direction. Not surprisingly, it was.

Then just for curiosity, on their website, I put 10 random LPs in my shopping cart, proceeded to checkout, and was quoted $70 for shipping.

That is my story for the day.
I traded with Moribund back in 1995 I think, when the Behemoth mcd was released in April. He got my package in May 1996, I got his in November/December 1995.

Banana boat shipping option SUCKS.

All shipments from Germany are airmail. What people never consider is the fact that a 34 EUR package to an overseas destination has NO INSURANCE whatsoever. You need to send shit priority if you want to sleep well and that nearly doubles the cost.

foreign shipping rates from germany are absolutely retarded.

overseas shipping is waaaaaaay too overpriced, whereas it's cheaper to send single LP's without registration inside europe than inside germany Rolling Eyes

then again they're pretty quick inside europe, most arrive items arrive within 2 days in all major european countries.

itīs not. cos over 1 kilo it costs 24€ (airmail) and well in the "western world" almost no parcels get lost, so if you trust your trade partner and you got some time, why not?

Thank fuck the packet came finally.

Postage companys are quite assholes. Then they make me wait my stuff longer than usually and bend corner's 3/4 LP's.

Thanks very much hey!

Need to take registered/insured shipping everytime it seems.

What's a reasonable time to expect an airmail parcel from Germany to the U.S. these days? I've been waiting 3 weeks for one (not your average $20 or even $100 record). In the meantime I'm trying to get the seller (on this board) to give me a damn registration/tracking number.

Within that time I received one from France in about a week.

surface mail from DHL still goes on a plane. It's nothing like those stories of two months on a boat lead time

I get airmail parcels from Germany in around a week and some change, and I'm in Australia. Mind you, that's with DHL. Otherwise it takes about two weeks.
