I've just found that this fantastic record has been rereleased on vinyl:

http://www.discogs.com/V8-Luchando-Por-El-Metal/master/500909 .

Since I do only own the Antologia CD box, I do wonder how this one is since it's very tempting to buy it.

Anyone got it? Thanks in advance!

It's sold out since ages. I got it through Metaleros Records around 2006. If he ever gets a copy for sale again, the price will be higher than what I paid in the first place (60€ for a new one).

Shocked Never would expect a V8 thread in here...

Mandatory band, absolutely for southamericans / spanish speakers metalheads or people interested in 80's metal! Buried in time but not in our hearts!

They were the foundations of argentinean metal. Nowadays with guitarist Civile dead by suicide (some say other theories), Chofa dead by his epilepsy and the other two relevant members converted to christianity (protestant, even worst shit than catholicism) the only remaining member truly alive in music is bassist R. Iorio.

A re-issue of the anthology, with re-masterization of 2004, is near of being relesed this month. It's available for pre-order here:

LUCHANDO POR EL METAL!!!!!

Harto de ideales, que padecen en la ira
a esta altura, quien soy yo...
Azotes de mal son, que envía Satan
ya Dios no los conduce hoy...

Great great great band. It's a shame they never made it that big outside of Argentina.

I got a really rare edition on CD from the early 90s. Never seen it anywhere else. Amazing record, some of the truest Metal ever released.

The reissue came out in 2012. I have one copy for sale, $23 plus postage. I'm in the US. PM if interested.

V8 easily in the top 5 of all 80's metal bands of Latin America. All albums essential listening. This reissue looks nice but didn't buy since I have the original lps and the Antologia 4 CD box already. Good to hear it will get re-released.

Bought some of their stuff in my last trip to south America. Legends on their own right.

I never understood why this stuff was out of print for so long, with the CDs still being impossible to find. You'd think with them being as big and important as they were the material would be easy to find.

That said, I'm not that familiar with them. More familiar with the bands the members went on to form. Mainly Hermetica and Rata Blanca if you count Walter's little stint.

Someone needs to reissue Resistencia (Venezuela) and Riff (Argentina) as well.

Just pay ol' Fermin at Parque Rivadavia a visit for some Riff CDs. I'm pretty sure you can still get some of their albums on ebay anyway.
