I got a VHS via a tape trade from a guy in Brazil in the early 90s. It had several songs from the Tormentor fest in 1987 that were definitely Sarcofago and one song claiming to be Sarcofago live in 1985. I personally have no reason to believe it isn't but am getting a number of people saying it isn't them. Does anyone actually *know* what band this is? There is a Sarcofago logo in the backdrop but I don't know the song. I can't find any photos of the band from this time period to compare with either.

I have posted the video in question at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_HRy_my7Cw

All the comments say: It is not.
Why not ?
Here's a photo of Wagner 1985/86 I think.
It could be him.

It could be Sarcofago in 1985. There is Sarcofago logo on the wall at least. I have Sarcofago live 1985 on casstte also, it did not remind me the Sarcofago we know from demos or Lps. Listened to it last time 10 years ago though. So it could be noisy beginning of Sarcofago. Or maybe its Armmagedon from Brasil (old Mutilator vocalist`s band, they were pretty wild also and Claudio Kleber had short hair in 1985/86).

Edit: Silvio`s band Armmagedon, not Kleber`s.

Yeah it's Sarcofago , in the early days they did some covers of a lot of old punk and hardcore bands , sounds like one of those. I have ton's of live sarcofago and on a quick listen to some of my early shows this one sounds like what you have on video there . Live Belo Horizonte Brazil 8-17-1985

I'll just mention that this is based around comments on Youtube. Quite possibly the nadir of all user-generated content on the internet.

That's definitely Wagner, and there's a Sarcofago backdrop, so doing the math...
Isn't that song a cover? Second half partly sounds like Venom.

Thanks guys. I was pretty confident it was Sarcofago but if anyone besides the Youtube crowd knew for a fact that it was not I would change the info as I pride myself in accuracy.

I'm more interested in tracking down the full version of that Mayhem video you have there.

It is not Sarcofago, it is Aamonhammer first gig. Check at 02:28 when they begin to play the song, it is The Decapitator, song that appear on Aamonhammer demo and in Warfare Noise II.

Warfare Noise version sound different but is the same song:

Looks like we have a winner here! That definitely sounds like the same song to me. I figured this would be the best place to get some kultofago information Smile

If you speak about the Freezing Moon video, that's most likely seems to be Bethlehem. Check out the back drop on the video!

Old Aamonhammer bios say that their first gig was "Black Death Festival" June 20 1987 with Mayhem and Chakal (Satanic Death #4 1989).

Yes, but the date of the video is wrong. It is not from 1985.
