Begin Transmission

Abstract

Four new releases from STS laboratories as of October 15th, 2009. These include the following:

sts012 ROBA EL KHALIYEH - "A different view of darkness" || The debut CD of Roba El Khaliyeh. Roba mixes classical and symphonic based influences reminding one of the works of famed composer Basil Poledouris, with the atmospheric stylings of metal bands like Rotting Christ, Tiamat and Samael. "A different view of darkness" is a mysterious and deeply powerful dark music experience directed by Lord Mephyr of Spellforest and Mythological Cold Towers. Comes in slim DVD case, recorded on gold CD. Limited to 100 copies.)
Roba samples: [1]DivShare File - 08 Track 8.mp3
[2]DivShare File - 01 Track 1.mp3

sts011 SCHREI AUS STEIN - "Talus" || Encomiast's main man Ross Hagen returns with Schrei Aus Stein, his new vision which continues to explore Encomiast's lush melodic ambience while melding it with the down-beat black metal of greats Velvet Cacoon, Xasthur and Procer Veneficus. "Talus" contains 5 lengthy tracks which should strike a chord with enthusiasts of raw yet serene dark music. Recorded on gold CD; comes in DVD box. Limited to 200 units.
SaS samples: [1]DivShare File - 01 - couloir.mp3
[2]DivShare File - crevasses.mp3

sts010 LONESUMMER / MARSH - "split" || Lonesummer and Marsh unify for this exceedingly weird and exotic CD release (tape version also through STS is now completely sold out) which sees 4 brand new tracks by both bands. Lonesummer offers their original style of ethereal black metal/shoegaze while Marsh serves raw and experimental black metal with a pinch of punk. This CD comes in a clamshell DVD box. Limited to 50 copies.
Lonesummer sample: DivShare File - Our Fathers_ Fathers.mp3
Marsh sample: DivShare File - Handsome Devil _Smiths cover_.mp3

sts004 AKHLYS - "Supplication" || The long awaited album "Supplication" from Naas Alcameth of Nightbringer / Temple of Not. Akhlys' "Supplication" is a methodical 40 minute continuum of pure black ambience meant to serve as a communion with the dead. "Supplication" also contains vocals, chants and incantations layered over an oppressive aura of death. Fans of Temple of Not will most likely enjoy the experience.... Comes in A5 slim DVD styled case with full color artwork. Limited to 100 copies on gold disc.

In other news

-The debut album "II" from Bird From The Abyss will be released before the end of 2009. Expect nearly 40 minutes of mysterious Pharaonic doom and creepy, crawly melodies from this wondrously dark Finnish entity. For now listen to "Crawling Monuments" here:

And watch the promotional video, found streaming here: http://vimeo.com/6926133

-We want to 10" LP. For this reason, "P aa opal poere pr.33" Velvet Cacoon's follow up to 2004's "Genevieve" will soon be released as a double 10" vinyl with the unreleased track "Vanoria" as a bonus and a 33 second "special message" from Josh fragmented and interspersed over all 350 copies so that it will require all 350 fans who buy the record to meet up at their favorite coffee show and play their copies simultaneously to decode the message. More disinformation is forthcoming.

-We expect Temple of Not's long awaited debut to be complete either in late 2009 or during the first quarter of 2010. Expect more details to emerge in the coming weeks.

-Roba El Khaliyeh's EP "A psychotic world for a psychotic Satanist" should be ready for exposure by mid November of 2009. Recorded before "A different view of darkness", "APWFAPS" follows more closely to Roba's black metal roots, though it clearly shows the band moving closer to the highly orchestrated sound featured on the debut. Sample for the EP: DivShare File - 02 Track 2.mp3

That's so Nargaroth, but at least VC is better.

I can't believe I haven't heard Nargaroth yet, but from what I understand I'm lucky that I have't!

Temple of Not is disturbing. Needs to be out already.

I think this debut will be a monument of sorts. I can't even begin to describe how utterly evil sounding the unfinished album is...

Hmmmm...I'll check it out. I had one of their LPs years ago but never bothered to listen to it.

Thanks, don't hesitate to pick up a few titles. Smile

I'm really excited about BFTA. With any luck the CD version of "II" will be out before 2010.

An interview with the band in the meantime:

From the interview...

"BFTA: Reflections of fear, isolation, hatred, anxiety and depression blended to this bizarre beauty of ancient mythological and paranormal world"

what else our world needs? Cool
