I was just wondering if you guys who are particular about condition have ever replaced a plain, paper inner sleeve. Like this for example:

The reason I ask is because most of the time they are rather flimsy and susceptible to wrinkling and general wear. I've bought a few LPs as new that came with slightly ruffled edges, corners and such on their plain inner sleeves if they came with one. Since these "inserts" are pretty common, I figured replacing them with new, identical ones would be harmless. Obviously, this isn't the case for printed inner sleeves or like maybe a special cardboard sleeve. I just wanted to get some opinions from people who are REALLY anal about this sort of thing, though anyone is free to comment.

Thoughts?

This. I replace these awful, aaaaaaaaaaaaaawful paper inner sleeves with Nagaoka No 102 (rice paper) to avoid static charge and scuffs or even slight scratches due to the rough paper. It's the best you can do for your records to take diabolikal pleasure in 'em for a long time imo.

It's always a struggle to get those to go back in the sleeve. HATE!

I have a 7" that has one of these. I actually dread taking it out and putting it back as a result.

I'm contemplating buying a couple different vinyl packaging components in bulk for these kind of things.

Problem solved with the mentioned Nagaoka sleeves. They even fit in a printed inner sleeve without any problems. These babies are definitely worth their price.

Mr. Lyderhorn Records sold a cd on Ebay, and the buyer complained about him changing the original JEWELCASE for a new one, so he filed a paypal complaint or something. Some people really are that "nerdy".

Not sure, actually. I was not sober enough to remember what he was talking about the last time I met him, but I think he will be back in business in not too long. Also he will focus more on Doom and Drone-ish type things.

I actually don't think so. The guy was obsessed with the fact that it wasn't the original jewelcase.
