Alternating between light and heavy, while being simultaneously beautiful and ugly, the Norwegian duo Detritivore manage to mix these elements on their debut LP, ""Pakt". Essentially a concept album depicting disillusionment with religion and subsequent descent into darkness, the album is a harrowing experience of not quite drone, not quite noise, and not quite doom metal, but a true amalgamation of the three.

"PAKT" is mastered by James Plotkin (Khlyst, Khanate) and features mesmerizing illustrations by Justin Bartlett (artist for Sunn O)), Aura Noir, & Moss).)
