Crippled children suck, it's easy to see,
their parents were dumb for having VD
and conceiving a baby as ugly as it
I say give it leg braces that don't even fit! |

If you are ever travelling down I-80 cross country, they are only a mile or so off the interstate...
(I didn't take any of these... )

all the exploited love on this board is cool, never really noticed their popularity amongst metalheads until now. they were my favorite band for a period in my life (long ago). i remember when "live in japan" showed up in a mall music store when i was like 13, i almost shit myself. i played that cd over and over and over. i also had an exploited shirt i wore almost every day. and my band covered 'lets start a war', except we changed it to 'lets stop a war' because we were peacenik crusties. |

CLASSIC:
Lets start a war said maggie one day
With the unemployed masses we'll just do away
They won't mind, like sheep they'll go
They won't suss us, they'll never know
Lets start a war said maggie one day
Lets start a war said maggie one day
Lets start a war said maggie one day
You fight for your country
You die for their gain
Death and destruction all around
Shops and houses are razed to the ground
Burnt out houses empty shells
Here on earth it's just a mortal hell
Lets start a war said maggie one day
Lets start a war said maggie one day
Lets start a war said maggie one day
You fight for your country
You die for their gain
How they died no one will ever know
They said they would save us as deterrents they would be used
Except they brought destruction to an earth grows no food
No we are gone forever no tombs can hold your names
Lets start a war said maggie one day
Lets start a war said maggie one day
Lets start a war said maggie one day
You fight for your country
You die for their gain

I remember when I was living in Germany back in the mid - 1980s, hearing a version that went:
Let's start a war said Ronnie one day.... (in reference to Reagan)
But can't remember if it was a cover by another band or what, after all these years... _________________ Label:

For the longest time I was like, "fuck the Exploited" because they are soooo fucking dumb, but in the last few years I've sort of given in and I can enjoy them now in spite of (and maybe because of?) their stupidity. "Punk's Not Dead" through "Horror Epics" was a great string of records. Not familiar with the later more metal stuff though. Is it worth checking out? |

They were one of the first punk bands I got into, just because their records were easy to get in the malls, due to them being on Combat/Relativity (Same with AF). I actually like these two the most.
I prefer their take on goth/post punk and speed metal rather than their classic street punk stuff. I'll take Chaos UK, The Partisans and the Varukers over early Exploited any day.
I was a crusty too. Mistakes were made. _________________

Oh and it's great this company is reissuing "Machine Gun Etiquette," that is an INCREDIBLE record, one of my favorite punk LPs ever. It's weird about the Clash reissues though, you can find all of those old records used for like $5 everywhere, so even though they're OOP on vinyl it seems pointless to repress 'em... |

As long as we're on a PUNK tangent...
Any fans of THE VIBRATORS on here?
When I still had my bar downtown, they used to come in when they were playing in town!
Coolest guys in a well - known band I've ever met...
we just sat around, talked, played darts & drank every time they were in town!
Cool guys & been doing it since like 1976 or so...
I have pictures buried somewhere... I'll have to look for them... _________________ Label:

Oh no doubt...pretty much the same with me, college town in upstate NY in the mid 90's. Victory records everything in the one independent record store in town, and little else. _________________
