Force of Darkness doesn't fit this thread at all - but that doesn't stop them from ruling. Man what a great album.

Only because they are not really "brutal Death Metal", other than that they are incredibly great of course.

Also from Peru:

Evil Damn - Only know the first demo cdr but that is some very good Death Metal taking influences from more recent brutal US acts as well as classic DM with great songwriting.

Krisiun "Conquerors of Armaggedon" is the pinnacle of brutal death metal without being a joke.
Raebelliun "Annihilation" actually as good as the aforementioned.
Both are for me the best of the best in brutal death metal.
I would say Disgorge "Necroholocaust" is also up there, but Mexico is not exactly South America. Whatever, this is by far their best material.

Grave Desecrator and Force of Darkness are killer although more black/thrash influenced.

Chile sems to be a great place for Death Metal, take acts like Magnanimvs, Trimegisto or Denying Nazarene for example.

I have to thank you for mentioning Trimegisto. I'd never heard of them and ended up ordering their album - it's really creative stuff. Great example of a band where you can hear their lineage from old school death metal, but they don't sound like a slavish (and pale) imitation of somebody else.

Glad you like them!
Well, you canīt go wrong with ex-Dominus Xul members. Wink
They have indeed a very own sound, apart from the Incantation/Immolation/classic USDM influences they have a bit of mid period Death in their compositions - at least to my ears. Quite elaborate songwriting skills in general...

Did you order from a US distro or from Obscure Domain directly? They have a great Death Metal-only roster, havenīt heard Anarkhon yet, though.

Support Hacker and Soenke, great guys with great taste!

I got it from Sevared Records for $7, shipping included. I'm psyched about that price. Cool It was my first order from that label/distro - I browsed around for something else to order on the cheap, but they specialize in gore-soaked deathgrind shit that all looks the same to me. As far as I can tell, Trimegisto was one of the few good things in their shop, and better than anything they've released themselves. I don't really understand why labels get so far into their "identity" that they end up releasing basically the same album every time, no matter what band name is printed on the spine.

Ah I see, that is a killer price indeed.

Sevared relased the new Vomepotro which I praised ehre already - did you check them out?
You might want to see what their side-label Butchered Records releases, they have an absolutely destroying split cd featuring Dethroned (US/Colorado) and demo tracks from Excommunion (both RIP it seems).
Dethroned combine dark and somewhat epic and evil riffing with fast and powerful drumming, people who are into Melektaus and that "evilness plus speed" Death Metal should like them.
Excommunion are somewhat similar to the approach Imprecation and also Infernal Dominion had, not that fast but heavy as fuck and... evil, heh.

I am absolutely puzzled why there are so few reviews as it is a true gem to me - seems I have to get in the ring for that one.

The Excommunion album "Superion" is also worth tracking down, they sounded a bit different on that one though, still great.

Excommunion is great, of course, but not South American.

Karan, can you tell more about Raebelliun - I can't find any information about them.

No more needed Smile
