This stuff is good. There is this other brutal death metal band from Brazil called Ophilatory or something put out a good first full-length album.

Seconded on Ophiolatry.

I'm also pretty partial to Saproffago - Bestial Horrible Thoughts

Chile's GODLESS is killer. Their double 7" "Irreligiosus Nemme Discrepante" is great. I've always liked INCRUST as well, although I wouldn't consider them brutal.

Yes, 1999-2009. But if you have hidden gems that were made before, just let us know!

"Evoking the Abomination" is one of my favourite brutal death cd for sure. Some Colombian bands such as Ancient Necropsy, Carnal and Purulent released some good cds. "Deforming King's Mummification" deserves to be listened to.

I'd pick that album too. All these Rebaelliuns etc. were just following Krisiun... don't really need much of that kinda monotone stuff but Conquerors of Armageddon is very good once in a while.

I really like the production, quite polished but not too much, very heavy and bludgeoning, and some excellent riffs to be found there.

How about Ageless Venomous for some of the most atrocious drum sounds ever? Very Happy

It took me a while to get used to that drum sound on Ageless Venomous, but once I did I found some good stuff on the album.

Krisiun, Abhorrence, Ophiolatry, Melektaus... that is exactly what I would post, heh.

I mentioned them before: Vomepotro!

Excellent songwriting and killer solos (the latter is rare in that genre).

Chile sems to be a great place for Death Metal, take acts like Magnanimvs, Trimegisto or Denying Nazarene for example.

Yogth-Sothoth are also quite good but I would say they havenīt realized their full potential yet. Their album "Abominations of the Nebulah Mortis" was quite solid but not enough killer songs for my taste. Worth checking out anyway.

Masacre - "Muerte Verdadera Muerte"
Posguerra - "Homo Sapiens: Detractor por Profesion" more like Punk/Grind (95)
Soulburner - "Hellfire"

Unaussprechlichen Kulten, definitely (how could I forget them)!!!

Force of Darkness and classics like Masacre are great but I am not sure they fit into the (however vague) category of brutal DM... anyway, killer acts nonetheless.

Shameless pitch...

With all this talk about ABHORRENCE(Bra) anyone who missed the "Evoking the Abomination" cd from 2000 can get it from me once more. See my add in the Trades section. I'm selling off the old "deadstock" from my label I had back around that time.

And i must 2nd that FORCE OF DARKNESS, although not one of the "brootal" type bands, they are surely one of the strongest bands out of ALL South America in at least the last decade...
