I wanted to ask any of you big collectors with valuable Record Collections what do you do for Insurance Coverage in case your house catches on fire or they are stolen. A regular Home Insurance Policy usually has sublimits on Records to a measly $2500 or less. This wouldn't cover my Witchfinder General Collection for God's Sake. |

This is accually a thought i try not to have if someone asks me at work or something i just avoid the question or say no that won't happen. I would like to look into this for myself since i would be out of a whole lot of money and years and years of my life if my belongings were stolen or lost in a fire. I think the best way to find out is find big card collectors and ask them what they have done in order to protect thier hobby/life/investment, because with all the money in card collecting insuring collections has to be common practice. |

It's sad to deal with losses, I know, but "ces't la vie"...
I won't take anything when I die, so I don't care too much with that.
Only death is real... Even if I could take something from this life, my vinyls would melt in hell.... hehe. |

The problem is more to prove them the worth of a certain record. I donīt think they will just accept what you tell them. |

I didn't have a problem with that, they accepted what I told 'em. |

I've been thinking about this for a long, long time and I 'm gonna arrange an insurance soon. I well know that if my record collection would be damaged on a domestic accident or stolen, even if I'd get the cash back it would be impossible to get once again all that I've lost. That's what worries me the most and I guess that most of you too. |

The Insurance Company may believe and accept what you told them now as a value for the records but wait til you try and make a claim for your Leather Nunn LP that was burned in the fire and tell them "Oh that record was worth $1400.
I am fairly certain they will say BULLSHIT |
