From C.T.I. #4 (1991). Originally published in Dutch, own translation.
You also played in Turkey. I didn't know there was a scene there.
Euronymous: The scene in Turkey is growing rapidly. There are a lot of hardcore bands, but death metal is rising. The audience mostly consists of kids, but I am still pleased with the scene over there. I noticed little of islam in Turkey, it's a moderate country and the metalheads don't give a shit about religion. Also we had no problems with the police, except that we couldn't play our entire gig in Izmir because of sound pollution. In Iran or so, there could never exist a death metal scene, they'd shoot you if you're not a pious follower of islam. In that aspect islam is ever more corrupted than christianity.
All in all I thought Turkey was great, probably the most pleasant country I have visited yet. |

Anyone knows anything bout this tape? |
since i know the guy behind raven's gate quite enough i can assure you that this one is fake. i am almost sure he was faked like many others who just wanted to believe they had actually heard the legendary tape at last. then it appeared to be the same session on one of the already bootlegged releases i just cant rememeber the name of the latter one at the moment. |

Look at this picture which was taken during Mayhem's Izmir trip. An old woman with hejab appears behind Euronymous

what's so unusual about that?? I'd be more concerned with Dead looking like some kind of ghostly apparition already. |

I certainly like the fact, that Hellhammer (of all folks featured on the picture, given his bold, wanna-be-Nazi statements some time ago) looks the most Turkish there! _________________ "Slit my eyes, for they'll remember..." |
