Great news at the beginning of 2009!

In August 2008 Asphyx was recording 6 songs some kind of instrumental preproduction/demo just to try things out.

It turned out thát great that we have decided to use the recorded tracks for the new album. Asphyx added meanwhile 4 newer songs.

All guitars, bass and drums are already 'on tape'. Martin van Drunen will put his Voice of Hell on the (t)rack this month.

The tracks are raw, no-nonsense brutal, doomy and intense as you can expect from Asphyx.

As a bonus, the new album will include a livedvd of the Party San show 2007, the first reunionshow of the band.

Bassplayer Wannes and Lowlifemedia are ready with editing dvdrecordings.

Tracklist and artwork will be postponed soon. There's no releasedate yet.

Great news, that DVD sounds like a nice bonus! I have pretty high hopes for this one... part of me thinks "it's not Asphyx without Eric Daniels", but I liked the Hail of Bullets stuff a lot, so chances are I'll like this as well.

If this is as good as "On The Wings of Inferno" or "Feeding On Angels", I'll be more than happy with it!

I think this will be well worth the wait. Eric Daniels was obviously a major part, THE major part of the riff-writing but I think Paul Baayens is capable of writing songs that are worthy of the Asphyx name.

I agree with the above post, anything like the last asphyx/Soulburn albums would be cool.

A bonus DVD of the PartySan show is a great idea. I don't usually like live DVDs much but I was there, so I know how good it was haha!

Did Asphyx plays any other gigs than Berlin and Party San after reunited?

I expect more from this than from Beherit or Pestilence.

Yeah, I've heard a lot about how good that gig was. Getting a copy with the album will be pretty cool.

I rather like live DVDs, as long as the audio is decent; I usually watch them once or twice, then rip the audio off and listen to it as a live album from then on. Best of both worlds...

I've seen Asphyx in Holland with Nifelheim, but can't remember the name of the event at the moment. They also played in Belgium last year with Grave (and both got ripped off by the organisation) but I missed that gig.

Saw them on the Way Of Darkness festival in Coburg on 4th October 2009. Great gig, but they only played the title-track of the 7", no other new one.

I wish there would be more Bands who play such a killer Setlist of their old songs.

That new track on the 7" is pretty weak. Hope any full-length that comes along is better.

Agreed, it´s a good Death Metal Song, but weak for Asphyx defintely.
