Got the original from the author (Maya Rigeliel) couple days ago. I do obviously appreciate when girl do draw such things at the age of 19. _________________ Kiss My Coffin!

It really is an interesting topic, so let's keep the pictures coming. Just a few picks of mine…
Otto Dix "War" triptych w/ predella
- This went right up on the wall in my listening corner. A heliography with its characteristic colour fidelity and it's a real pity that this technique has been driven out of the market. There're only two working machines left in Europe as far as I know, and one of them is a museum object in Dresden already.
Zbigniew M. Bielack "Reaping Death"
David V. D'Andrea "Wreath"
"Mountainscape"
- A painting I bought at a flea market; signed by Hans Noll, 1949.
Kathleen Cadduk "Autumn Scenery"
- A print I bought at a flea market, too. I immediately got captured by the bleak colour scheme as well as the fine lines that add a great depth to the scene that isn't given away by the picture I took. I've never bothered to check who she is, though.
"First Frost"
- A photo taken by me in the Erz Mountains where I lived at that time.
"Pathway"
- A photo of the area where my family on the father's side originates in; taken by my great-grandfather.
Käthe Kollwitz "Battlefield" & "Prisoners" (from the "Peasants' War" series)
- Not the best reproductions admittedly but I've had these on my wall since I was 16 which is the reason why I cling to them.
This large-sized commented facsimile reproduction of Dürer's "Apocalypse of John" from 1970 is something that took me quite some time to find more or less reasonably priced in a flawless condition, and it's something I hold particularly dear as the printing blocks for this edition were made from original prints, that are stored in Staatliche Graphische Sammlung in Munich btw, wherefore the quality remains unmatched.

I really like this kind of art (don't know the English name, engraving ?). Dürer is clearly one of the masters of this art. Check out Jacques Callot, his works deserve some attention too. |

Woodcut in this case, and thanks for reminding me of Jacques Callot who mainly did copper engravings indeed. I briefly heard of him during my studies, and I'll surely take the time to brush up my knowledge on him. _________________

So would video game art be within the realm of what you people would want to see?! Not trying to post shit people wouldn't find interesting. |

Awesome! Certainly one of my biggest influences. I only have the Barnes and Noble version of Dante's Divine Comedy with all of Dore's illustrations, which I occasionally turn to for inspiration when I'm having trouble pulling off particularly challenging linework. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/sethbennettillustration - Artwork and graphic design |
