thread was meant to be as an opposite to that "ebay is officially retarded"one.
Cheap prices for Great Metal records in times of increasing 2nd hand vinyl prices.. or gateful deluxe reissues die hards...
like i bought Detente for 6€ or Heathen for 8€.

Hades - Resisting success

One of my all-time favorite thrash releases. Such a fucking killer album. If At First You Don't Succeed is great too.

And to add to the thread...I just got Exciter Violence and Force for $10. I can finally retire the tape copy I dubbed from my brother way back when!

I scored an Ex+ Korean EMI Noise pressing of Running Wild - Death or Glory off eBay for 10 bucks last week. Unfortunately shipping to the states from South Korea kicked my ass after the fact but the momentary victory was still solid. Cool

Found a copy of The Coup "Party Music" CD last week for $1 with the original cover of the twin towers blowing up that was released prior to the 9/11 attack. Not sure how rare this is, but a cool find. Also, grabbed a couple Minutemen, Black Flag, Stooges, Metallica "RTL", and an old Rolling Stones for $1 too. None of that is rare or hard to find anyway, but for $1 each it was a cool score.

I have a few of those Korean Noise pressings and think they're good quality, as they sound as good as their more familiar domestic counterparts. I'm not sure if it was standard, but the ones I have originally came with the poly inner 'bags' rather than standard inner sleeves, meaning that they do not suffer from scuffs like many well-played LPs do. Given those qualities, along with the fact that they typically sell for less than the 'standard' presses do, I think they're great buys.

Rock Brigade Records (Brazil) is another label like that from which bargains can be found. They put out Nuclear Blast/Earache (and probably others) titles for the South American maniacs contemporaneously (or near so) to the more common Euro/US releases, and are also high quality. They also used poly inners (all 8 or 10 titles I am familiar with used them). There are afew albums for which I have had (or still have) both NB/Earache+RBR copies, and there is absolutely no dropoff in quality between the two. Hell, I had both versions of Brutality's debut, and ended up selling the NB version because the RBR sounds just as good + is on black wax rather than the fugly yellow NB did. If there are any differences between the NB/RBR, they are subtle (akin to different country of origin pressings of 70s rock albums, imo) rather than any pronounced sound-quality difference. Given that they typically sell for substantially less than NB/Earache copies, they are also great buys.

When that Running Wild LP arrives, please post whether or not it arrives with a poly 'baglike' inner. The ones I have have some Korean characters printed on them. I am curious as to whether that was standard with their releases.

Flea market metal. I paid 1€ for each of these. Good stuff, especially Zoetrope!

My best find up to this day was an unplayed copy of the Soulside Journey first press for €1 in a clearance sale a couple of years ago. Cool

My A-Few-Bucks-for-Great-Stuff -moment was some 10 years ago in a local flea market. I was going thru a stack of CDs at this one table and amidst all that mainstream pop/rock garbage there lies Sororicide "The Entity" and Misanthrope/Torturer split CD. And they were something like 3 euros apiece. Later on I found also a killer Samhain t-shirt from the same dump.
