sorry guys, just like mindy mccreary i saw this coming a million miles away. i guess it "takes one to know one" in these cases.
i didn't even expect watain to release the wild hunt, i figured they'd have killed themselves or at least erik, after lawless darkness.
i will listen to the come reap ep and both the devils blood albums i have today in remembrance and regret that i showed up so late when i saw them live and only caught 3 songs. before i'd seen that live show i had written them off as trendy crap. really good band.

It takes bravery. The deepest bullets are not to be feared; phosphorous napalm or nothing to be feared, but to look inward to see that twisted mind that lies beneath the surface of all humans and to say yes I accept you, I even love you because you are a part of me, you are an extension of me…

Horrible news.
I only got to see TDB one time, at the 1st Decibel tour in the USA, 2012 and they were amazing.
Selim was an odd, troubled soul for sure.
I hope he found what he was looking for in death.

I may be in the minority here, but suicide is fucking awful.
You end your life, and then leave the lives of many others in shambles. Some of your friends and family NEVER recover.
Pretty fucking selfish and cowardly.
I say this on the heels of my older brother's friend, who killed himself last week, left no note and no explanation. And this guy was in his early 40's, lots of friends and family, a good job and a solid guy. My brother Jon, normally a rock, can't sleep, eat and has not worked in a week.

To quote EMBRACE (US) "No more suicide. It kills everyone.".

MCS
The Devils Advocate...Literally on this one.

Sad news and a real tragedy for his family and friends who are left to pick up the pieces. I always shudder with embarrassment when people make out like suicide is some noble act (only if you are an 'Occult' metaller, of course). He killed himself because he was probably very mentally ill and it is a fucking waste of talent. The man was a fantastic song-writer and that is what he will be remembered for. I'm glad to have caught them live a couple of years back in Dublin. It was an exceptional gig. RIP to the man and condolences to his family and friends.

Huge TDB fan and especially like everything up to Come Reap. Saw them live a couple of times and they were always great performances. He'll be missed as a musician.

Pulling the trigger, swallowing the pills or kicking away the chair is never easy.

Well no, not a "surprise".

It was a surprise in the morning to me when I first read it from Ghost's fan page. A big loss, I admire his work...

you are master of your life. suicide sucks but if you are not enjoying life or having other convictions for ending it, the choice is yours. shouldn't torture yourself in order to please others.

Was committing suicide on Ash Wednesday accidental or ironic? Maybe both?
