I'm happy to tell you that in the coming months Unspeakable Axe Records will reissue Eternal Dirge's debut album of German death/thrash (with a touch of prog) craziness, "Morbus Ascendit," probably along with an as-yet-undecided amount of demo material, on CD. More news once some things are decided, but work will begin very soon. Here's a track to listen to (it's a rollercoaster ride): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E2arwRpumw

Unfortunately no. Just waiting on the band to gather everything needed. The guy in charge of this is in a new band now and stays busy, so even though he's enthused about this project, it's on the back burner for him. Hopefully this year.

I put out a feeler on that already - was interested in doing Ritually Abused and/or their unreleased album. Unfortunately that went nowhere. A bigger label is supposed to do Ritually Abused (the band didn't mention which one, but rumor has it that it's Relapse), and the unreleased album will probably never see the light of day for internal band reasons (there were line-up changes and lots of conflict around the time it was made, and the guys who would really need to sign off on it don't talk to each other anymore).

I'm working on something else now that I think would be cool - we'll see what happens. No hints just yet.

Holy shit, this took a long time. This reissue is finally moving forward with a double CD release from me and a concurrent vinyl release from The Crypt. All materials are in hand and the layout is done; at the moment we're just working on low-key audio clean-up. Looking at maybe a late summer or early fall release.

The cover art has been re-created from a new scan of the original artwork and the band's logo:

No more than one dirge per calendar year. I'll consider them come January.

Laughing Ok, I can wait. At least I'll have this dirge to keep me entertained until then.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past! I kinda remember their second album as being 'wahetever' but I haven't listened to it in ages and never heard the first one so I'm willing to give it another try...

This release is just the first album and their 3rd and 4th demos. 2 CDs (and I assume the LP set from The Crypt will be 2 LPs). Unless you mean Violent Dirge's two albums - in that case I was just kidding and there are no plans for either currently, but I'll check them out as a possibility.
