My Top 5:

1) Like An Everflowing Stream
2) Indecent AnD Obscene
3) last selftitled CD, awesome "back-to-the-roots", and what an awesome analogue production
4) Massive Killing Capacity
5) The God That Never Was

I listened to "Indecent..." yesterday and I saw this thread "par hasard".

"Indecent... + Pieces" (the digipack contains both releases) is my second fave release ("LIke en ever..." being the first, of course); I don't really like what they've done afterwards, even though "The god..." had some good moments but nothing more...

I can't get into their maidenesque leads and melodic riffs, they seem out of place in their songs.

Everyone should check their "LIve in Stockholm" dvd (and ENTOMBED's "Monkey puss - live in London" video as well, heh) !!!

I have mixed feelings on that. I'm not usually a fan of that style of melodicism especially when it comes to death metal, but Dismember does it really well, and for me the mix usually works. I think their "Death Metal" album is probably the most melodic death metal I've ever fully enjoyed. However, I like their amelodic stuff better, and I kind of wish they'd ditch the Maiden influences completely for a little while. If you compare "Of Fire" (probably their best melodic song) to "Override of the Overture" or the title track of "God That Never Was," it's clear which one is better... not to mention uglier and more devastating to one's vertebrae...

Love it. Not their best (the debut) nor my favorite ("Pieces"), but it still rocks. The production is a bit weird, the guitars sound like they only have neck pickups, and the drumming is a bit off at times, but it's got some great songs and killer riffs.

Bloody good album with damned good songs. I'd agree that it isn't their best, but definitely in the top 3.

They played lots of old stuff live earlier this month in Canada including "Dreaming in Red" and "Skinfather". Total killer gig!

To have all old bandmembers playing in this concert during all different periods would be a killer concert to visit Crying or Very sad
