I am old to remember when Morke claim many bands list here were fake poser scums. To include mighty Moonblood also. Yet does Gazalmagooth work Lidl pastry section Morke? Bavarian beer industry Morke? Huh!

For me German black metal is Absurd, Ungod and Mayhemic Truth though Mayhemic as name is to be Mayhem attapmt or Bathory word conjuration and I think Bathory first!! Great Morrigan ruled Earth too.

From what I (tried to) understand: Yes, Moonblood where considered posers and trendy´s, though not only by Morke members. There are obvious reasons for that but people who are new to the scene think Moonblood was the truest german black metal band of the 90ies or whatever. Anyone remember Andras...?

I am sure König Asura lives a good life from his MORKE-roaylties.

A certain member of a certain German band once told me Asura spitted on his girflriend because she knew more about Nietzsche. Senseless story, but it somehow always comes up when I read the name.

What I could strongly recommend and comes into my mind right now:

Ascension, Chaos Invocation, Necros Christos, Moonblood, Katharsis, Nightwolf, Ravenclaw, Odem Arcarum, Vargsang, Graven, Forgotten Darkness, Luror, Alchemyst, Lunar Aurora, Flagellator, Nyktalgia, Wigrid, Silexater, Paria... And Venenum, though its rather Death Metal.

Didn't one of the MOONBLOOD guys become one of these German HM vinyl collectors? I don't remember his pseudo but he was listed on the metalpage.de website and was always buying rare records on eBay, especially South-American stuff (he probably outbid me on a few of these auctions too).

Armatus, Wehrhammer, Satan's Sign of War, and all those other related bands also deserve a mention. Some of the material can be hit or miss though...

If you're able to downgrade your IQ below 85, then maybe yes. Armatus sounds so completely broken, you really need a lot of alcohol to think this is good music. And Wehrhammer seems to have the exact same settings cemented in his equipment since 1996. Of course, I wouldn't dare to say this Krieg face to face.

I'm very glad to have my IQ downgraded down to neanderthal levels while listening to Eternal Flame of Hate. Harsh bands like Armatus, Wehrhammer and SSOW are not for everyone and it's a good thing. Maybe you should just concentrate on the new Watain album instead?

I didn't say that temporary dumbness is something bad, sometimes you feel even more lucky in this state, if you're in the right mood for it. Don't take it too seriously.

And Watain, come on: That is only for imbeciles below an IQ of 40.

Moonblood only started to get taken seriously when Judas Iscariot started acting like they were Mayhem. I had a long contact with Gaamalzagoth in the middle 1990s and I never liked their music that much, but he was a nice guy.

What are the Morke guys upto nowadays?

Maybe this is blasphemy to some people, but I always thought Germany had the best bands, and that's truer today than ever before.
