Love this project. I'll admit that the lyrics and vocals are shit and the drumming on the early albums is pretty half baked (but I enjoy them anyway). But the fucking riffs are so good it doesnt matter. Ji was really one of the best USBM bands back then....or ever for that matter. I would really like to see a repress of all the albums as they are expensive as fuck. I heard that he was a judge now and may not want them re-released......if so that sucks.

I think you are mixing up your Judas Iscariot tabloid headlines a bit.

I think his father is a lawyer or a judge.
There was some controversy when Andrew (JI mastermind) donated some money to a political party for a campaign and his involvement in BM or NS ideology was 'exposed'. I forgot all the little details but this was discussed many times before.

I always enjoyed Moonlight Butchery and To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding. I never liked the debut, however. Thy Dying Light was pretty good.

Before A Circle Of Darkness on the album Heaven in Flames is so good.

also interested in gossip regarding the project

Well I was close. Kind of. Maybe that controversy is related to why there are no JI represses in the age of represses that we are living in.

Heaven in Flames is mandatory. After that, it's all hit or miss. I enjoy all of his albums to varying degrees, but I can acknowledge that a great deal of his output was mediocre especially his sub-demo drumming skills. Fucking shameful and really brings down some of the songs.

Love all the albums. My personal favorite is 'The Cold Earth.....'

From what I've heard, A.H. is apparently working as part of the faculty at the U of E in Edmonton... No confirmations on that though.

I've been revisiting JI a lot these days and checking out stuff I missed in the first place, like Distant in Solitary Night... killer.

Not interested in the gossip.

Yep, the same here. Also I love the ultra-sloppy drumming on The Cold Earth Slept Below. For those who think the second Mütiilation album is sloppy, that's a strong contender or even going over it, heh.

The drumming on "Remains..." Might be insanely sloppy, but at least it generally stays in time with the music. Can't really say that about the JI album in question. It's just waaaay off.

It may be true that the drumming is sloppy, but I think it still fits. A lot of bm is played sloppy ....we listen for the riffs and atmosphere. Well I do anyway. I prefer this type of shitty drumming to overly produced and anally tight typewriter drumming,
