New:
SELIM LEMOUCHI & HIS ENEMIES
Selim Lemouchi & His Enemies
self sacrificial
self indulgent
ascetic
romantic
callous
zealous
and constantly in a state of creative experimentation
no laws
no paradigms
simply the ascent and descent of microcosms of sound
worlds are born and die within the space of a song
weaving together a varied scope of musical, spiritual and emotional influences into an extremely diverse but cohesive oneness
Selim Lemouchi:
Following only one paradigm, freedom, Selim Lemouchi has, after being debriefed from his 6 year tenure as leader of The Devil’s Blood, started by returning to the oldest and most spiritual form of making music; to allow all emotions, all inspiration and all style-figures that drive him, to speak without censor. Be it the torture of love or the bliss of hate, all demons and all angels are allowed to speak.
Working with his eclectic taste and open mind towards music in general there is no telling what will happen next.
From rock based music to completely over the top noise, black metal, psychedelic rock to acoustic, more singer/songwriter oriented material.
From the intensely loud and abrasive to the thoughtful and fragile.
It is up to the moment and the fickle nature of inspiration to decide in what direction Selim will be pushed.
The Enemies:
With such an unorthodox approach to content and form it was clear from the start that The Enemies could not be a band in the traditional sense. It shall always be the goal to create a different reality with each performance and therefore Selim will strive to bring different artists to the stage constantly. Not only in order to get the right man/woman for the job whenever possible but also to add to the uncertainty-factor. Improvisation and creative re-arrangement will be the only constant.

Marie Landragin and Paul Sebring met in 2007 as twin lead guitar players in Charlottesville VA’s annual Halloween Black Sabbath tribute band, Mass Sabbath. In early 2008 Marie wanted to get together a no frills rock band with solid riffs and thought of Paul immediately. Jordan Brunk joined on bass soon after. Corsair recognized potential to expand their melodies into twin harmonized leads going on influences of Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash and Iron Maiden. Driven by a progressive classic rock center, they dove head first into writing challenging yet catchy material that harkens back to the early days of metal.
This is the 1st CORSAIR show in Germany & Europe!

Major announcement right there!! Billing wasn't that shabby anyway, but someone finally getting CORSAIR (one of the most underrated bands of recent times) over is certainly ace...if it only wasn't for that Wolf-Rüdiger Mühlmann wanker being one of the main organisers in charge! Only recently he "dissected" Tom G. Warrior's discography for German "Rock Hard" magazine, containing some of the most embarrassing fuck-ups, I've encountered in quite some time, e. g. seriously talking about "Satanic Rites" as some "private concert recording"...go figure! A poser, if there ever was one! _________________ "Slit my eyes, for they'll remember..." |

New: SULPHUR AEON
Sulphur Aeon have emerged from the depths of the sea during the early moons of 2010. Tired of compromises and discussions he experienced in his former bands... T. initiated Sulphur Aeon in order to be a vessel only for his vision of Death Metal. No compromise! M. was chosen to be the voice and with him, Lovecraft entered the lyrical cosmos of Sulphur Aeon. Real drums were still needed, though... but with the recording of the bands 7" release "deep deep down they sleep", D. joined as a permanent member. The first album "swallowed by the ocean's tide" did well among the critics... more to follow. Blackend Death Metal - abyssic, conjuring, cyclopean.

Awesome lineup so far, no doubt.
However, I hope the organisation differs from this year. Couldn't attend that one and thought I'd miss like 10 bands to see. Seeing the running order later on I realised that it's impossible to catch almost every band due to the simultaneous playing times on both stages, which really sucks.
I hope next year they manage to start earlier and/or finish later than 5pm till 12pm, which was really too short for 12 bands.
But considering its 13 bands next year it looks like there's a chance that overlaps between the stages are shorter. |
