Nice band. Music its nothing out of this world, but vocals are amazing

Probably the only band where you can actually smell the vocals through the speakers.

Cosmic Atrophy's Codex Incubo tried to catch this very weird riffstyle. I have a mixed feeling about this album, it's not bad but it's too obvious that they tried to be like Demilich.

I thought Codex Incubo was a great effort and although they wore their influence on their sleeve, I don't think they were a shameless rip-off or clone at all. Wasn't Cosmic Atrophy supposed to have nearly finished a second album, but then disintegrated? A shame.

CA were trying too hard. He had a bunch of personal problems and the hard drive with the second album on it crapped out. Now he's busy making shitty video game remixes.

I didnt say it was a shameless rip off album. I wrote a very good review of it in my zine. But you could feel at some parts of the album that he tried to sound like Demilich. Yet it's a good record, better than most gay useless piece of wimp fag garbage "occult" death metal wankery albumz.

Just came across this full set from 2006 at MDF and thought a few might dig it.

Thanks, this is pretty cool despite fairly poopy sound. Hail Averse Sefira!

Let's make this official; The Demilich demo compilation will not only be a demo compilation, but will also include Nespithe. Everything we've recorded, from 1991 to 2006, in one package, with old and new artwork, available this year as a 3-LP and 2-CD. Both through Svart Records.

Amazing, one of my very favorite death metal bands.

I'll echo everyone who pointed out that the vocals are not the big deal here. While they're bizarre, they have a hard time standing out because the music is even more unorthodox. They're just a part of the whole strange package. Demilich are like Gorguts or Immolation in that they naturally generate unusual music. Where progtards have to sit down and intentionally and artificially cram salsa and grindcore together, bands like these -- while unusual in comparison to what we're used to -- sound incredibly natural first and foremost.

best! etheric noise of the greatest kind. more or less the best death metal band ever. The putrefying road!!!

edit. here's a band that's closest to demilich that I found. Nauseant from Sweden. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rG9Z9c2OgJ4
song is called The Decayed Population of the Polluted Planet, so it's demilich worship down to the T. Their 7 " is not as good as this Cdr demo which you still might be able to get from their drummer albert, so seek it out.

Deserve to listen to them more deeply, but I feel this is much more technical for my ears.

Good band, but like has already been said, a bit overhyped.
