Seeing Nifelheim play their first ever show in France, with Vulcano supporting, back in May was something...
Also Watain in 2011 and Incantation in 2012 were pretty memorable.
Judas Priest in 2011 was amazing as well, even without KK.

I was pretty surprised as well when I saw them live. Pretty damn good for a duo!

DRI in a small packed club in the 2000s, the right amount of people and enthusiasm, I think DRI played every fucking song they had damn near, they did their regular set and encore, then Kurt laid behind the drums motionless for 5 or 10 minutes then got up and they did a really long encore, I brutalized and aching horribly for 2 weeks afterwards

I’ve seen more shows than I remember, but some that have really made an impression:

Dissection rebirth gig - Stockholm 2004. The official DVD has way too many shots of the audience, but it still gives an impression. If you don’t care about sound or picture quality, just watch it on youtube. I do believe that this first gig since ’97 was better than any others on this tour or later.

Morbid Angel - Stockholm 2005 Very different from when I saw the band during the following years. Maybe I was just very drunk, but this was really, really good.

Watain/Nifelheim – Turku 2008. Total magic from both bands. One of the smallest stages I’ve seen “big” bands like this on. Made it a very intimate experience from both bands

Goatpenis – Helsinki 2011. Large parts of the audience were too tired/drunk (band started playing around 1.30AM). Still one of the most powerful concerts I ever went to.

I could probably list a lot more events (including the bands mentioned), but this has to be enough for now. VERY jealous of people who saw bands like Slayer and Morbid Angel in their prime. It sucks having been born too late.

NBM IV. Every band I wanted to see (the majority of the bill) either met or exceeded my expectations. Greatest atmosphere of any gig I've ever been to as well. Really hope there's another in the future.

That gig was something. Notable would be that the Watain roadie had the guts to use those crazy pyros in such small place like S-Osis was! They were denied from using them at the very start but they ignored the instructions... Watching the venue staff losing their minds as the flames lick the ceiling was priceless.

All three gigs on that minitour were great...

easily one of the best shows i ever saw was absu/katakysm/incantation -thirsty whale, chicago, 21+ up show 1995.

enslaved played a little bit but got laughed off the stage because trym kept stopping drumming in the middle of their songs to pout. it was pretty fucking pathetic. but . . .

absu fucking BROUGHT it. the quintessential lineup with mezzadurus on bass. one of the most dynamic, surging, intense sets of metal i have ever seen.

"temple of knowledge" kataklysm with sylvain on vocals. stunning. blasting chaos.

incantation were also great that night.

show was fucking killer, but only about 20 people in the whole club for the over 21 show. i came in during the very end of the earlier kiddie show and heard enslaved covering "freezing moon" or whatever.
