How's Blue Miasma compared to the rest of Krieg's discography?
I dig Bateman and the Black House a lot...early stuff, meh.

It's closer to that material than the early stuff. Less chaotic, at least.

"The Black House" if you took all the fire away. "Blue Miasma" was/is a HUGE disappointment.

For me Blue Miasma is the most complete album they ever did. I suppose even though I've spent very few listens to Black House, that this one too would also be one of their most complete albums. Where as Patrick Bateman was to me kind of filler music which I'm sure had more of a purpose than I could interpret from it. I enjoy the first album or did but the music was very new to me then and I feel that I've in many ways grown out of it etc. Which brings me back to Blue Miasma which has a few of their most catchiest or memorable tracks they ever did. But I suppose this could easily be seen differently depending on who is hearing it.

I've only recently been listening to Blue Miasma, but it's more "accessible" than the other stuff, and I mean that as a compliment. I can totally see why someone wouldn't like the older material, but I think most people would probably dig the the mid-00s albums, as it is really straightforward and riff-oriented by comparison.

I got a raccoon stuck in my ass again. I'll be in the hospital in Harrisburg til Monday, so come visit me. I'll be loaded on Valium and anti-convulsion meds.
