VINTAGE VINYL near Newark, NJ... for the USA the most massive metal section I've ever seen, easily takes an hour or more to rapidly flip from A-Z...and that is just the cds....then the other half of the store has the LPS... you won't get out of there without blowing at least $100 and I've seen some folks drop $500...and i've been there twice in my life...

This. I have never seen a bigger or better metal selection anywhere else.

Anyone been to both Vintage Vinyl and Armageddon? Wondering if they have a bigger selection, might be worth the 3 hour trip to NJ.

I was wondering this myself.

I have never been to Armageddon but I work at VV and can confirm the scale of the metal section. I lose a huge portion of my paycheck in there...an occupational hazard that I am ok with! Don't know which direction you'd be coming from, but if S to N its a good stop before going to NYC.

Some may recognize it from Scott Pigrim Vs. The World.

It's not what it used to be but the metal section is glorious.

The only truly "breathtaking" record store I've been in is Extreme Noise (Minneapolis) when the crusties stop by on tour or after having jumped off a train.

Looks just like an extremely better version of Headline Records here in LA.
