Has anyone had any experience with
Phono Press (Italy) or Of My Vinyl (France) for vinyl pressings?
Especially low print runs of 150 to 200 copies.

Used Phono Press when they still operated with their old name. Pressing was 200 x LP without covers and at least then everything went good and the quality was ok. The music itself was so distorted originally, that it's hard to tell how cleaner stuff would've sounded.

No, they don't.

Yes, it's a bit irritating, so I decided to be useful for a change.

I just made a file with the info mentioned in the whole thread, and I combined it with a thread in another forum

Code:
http://ydnirgal.com.ar/resources.htm

It's divided by categories, and yes, I KNOW SOME SITES OFFER MULTIPLE PRODUCTS (e.g. pressing plants who also do patches, etc), but the list is huge as it is. I can update it weekly if needed, and I may add an '*' on "recommended" plants/sellers/etc - however I'll only mark them if someone reliable enough (a.k.a Yosuke and a few others) told me to do so. Also, some of the "plants" are actually brokers, sue me.

Feel free to download, edit and/or make your own list. It would be nice to get it added to the first post too.

Hope it's useful.

You are the man. Thanks for this

Whilst Vatra I Sumpor recommended me www.1984printing.com/ (as would Yosuke as 1984 did the NWN zine reprint) for printing zines which include a paperback spine. Is there anywhere of similar or cheaper costs based in Europe which can print around 200-250 copies of A5 black and white (paperback) 'zines?

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but going through 40+ pages to find one answer is a little too much for me at this point...

Anyway, I usually get my records done with Brooklynphono but they don't do big-hole 7-inches so I'm down to two options: Rainbo and United. Which should I go with? Price isn't that big of a factor since I'm sure they will be very similar anyway...quality means much more, of course!

I would broker the 7" through AtoZ and get them done at Rainbo.

vs... I would recommend avoiding Rainbo as they always fuck something up and have inferior-sounding product compared to United. (The second part is subjective I realize.)

You can avoid many issues by going through a broker like AtoZ. The wait is still pretty long but they produce good products. Also the sound has more to do with where you get it mastered. AtoZ uses a different mastering plant than the inhouse Rainbo studio.

United's in house mastering is okay but their vinyl is too thin. They warp too easily. I've also heard that their management changed and the new people don't give a shit about small labels or bands.

I haven't dealt with United recently, that's true.

AtoZ fucked up my CD jobs more often than they got them right. Their delivery time is good though.
