Gay. Sounds like shopping centre music or something junkie would listen to on drugs... Shame since Umskiptar was a a really good album

He is blogging like a bitch and now even doing shitty youtube videos.

He was far more entertaining when he was burning churches and threatening Finnish black metallers in fanzine interviews.

Started doing laundry while listening the samples.... ended up with a drawing of an Ent and pile of dirty clothes. It certainly seems to have some inspirational values.

These samples sound OK, not more and not less. Better than Dandy Balder and Hildscrap for sure, but that is not a big effort so far.

Will wait for the leak, like a total asshole.

That got a well-deserved "dislike" from me just now.

There's a decent chance I will buy this, and I consider myself only a reasonable Burzum fan and not a huge one by any means. I like all the Burzum stuff (though I don't own either Hildjsaf-whatever or Daudi Bauldr)
and found Umskiptar to be a cool, moody, soothing piece. A lone candle and a glass of wine kind of record. The lad Varg seems to have 'the touch' for composing music that I can connect with.
This track is good example, though I can fully understand why any metal head would not bother with it.

Just checked there and I see it is from 'Forebears' film and not the new album..... but still... nice track.

Listening to the album right now and it's much better than I have expected. I like it way better than the previous one, actually.

I don't see what the problem is with the videos he's been posting, then again I do like watching a Lada Niva going up and down a hill, driving in the dirt and so on and would probably buy one if I could.

Liking the samples a lot.

The feeling reminds me of this:

My absolute favourite prog record of all time. So if it has even anything remotely to do with this sound wise then it should be better than expected.

Theres hardly something in common between these albums. I've just listened to Sol Austan and I must sadly admit that its nothing more than a worthless pile of amateurish synthesizer crap.

Well it's leaked...

I got about half way through and had to turn it off. It sounds fucking horrible. Ultra-dry, treble-y, General Midi parpings. The two previous synth albums can be excused given the limitations of how they were made, but not this one.

Thing is, the music itself is ok; there are some good ideas buried in there...but you kind of wish someone at PHD would have slipped him some Lord Wind or Waldteufel albums for inspiration.

Every time I load Daudi Balders on my listening device I remove tracks 1 and 4. Didn't care for the album after.

Tomhet is one of my all time faves. And just hearing the re-recording of Han Som Reiste is fuckin killer.

Not really sure what he is going for but props to him for keeping at it.
