HOSPITAL PROD has a NYC store has he not?
Flabbergasted no one has mentioned it... Would be mandatory in my book.
Also go check OBSCURA lil shop in Lower East Side. Great tasty boutique of weird unique antiques.
Also go to EVOLUTION store in Soho: real human skeletons and bones for sale. And dream about aquiring a real complete human foetus skeleton for $4000 _________________ DISJECTA MEMBRAE plays Torture Doom

That's because it closed more than a year ago.

Last year I trekked down to the Bowery to go to Hospital only to find the For Lease sign. The previous year I'd showed up when it was supposed to open and it was locked up so I came back an hour later and still no sign of life. Oh well both times I bought cool stuff from the Mexican souvenir shop across the road _________________ www.mendicantmusic.com |

I think Dom moved to LA to play synth with Cold Cave, his mailorder is still semi operational so if you want to pay $35 for a CD (wow with shipping what a bargain) you can still get in on that sweet action.
Or you could email Kevin Drumm directly and buy the same CD for $13 ppd.....

I made it to Hospital Records once at their old location. I didn't really find anything I wanted, but the experience of walking to the back of Rastafarian reggae record store and walking down a ladder to get to ultra niche satanic black metal record store. |

Thanks for the tips everyone, particularly xray! Between Heaven Street, Academy, and Generation records I made it home with quite the haul. Being originally from Texas, it was good to see Absu destroy the city as well. So damn much to do in that concrete jungle, so I wasn't able to hit all the places but Momofuku (noodle bar) definitely lived up to the hype. Cheers. |

Been wondering the same since i go to nyc often, but don't know as much of the brooklyn area, especially record stores. Last visit my friend and i found all the ones on bleeker and nearby areas. First time i've hit 4 (maybe 5?) record shops on a street, and not found anything i wanted to buy. Granted partly due to being in manhattan as well probably doesn't help with actual scores, and used sections either ranged from being decent but overpriced, to not really having much noteworthy. |
