The kicker on that article made me chuckle.
While the outside tent is...not my preferred way of seeing bands, especially those whose atmosphere is best experienced in a dark cave...I am not going to get too wound up about it now. As mentioned upthread, hopefully the room that normally holds the distros will be a little less impeded. |

I've been a supporter of this fest for years but I think the way they chose to approach the location issue this year was a bit disingenuous to the fans. It's been very obvious for a long time to those who live around here that sonar could not be used the way it used to be and the organizer basically just stayed silent saying trust us it'll work. Just seems kinda gay that they knew the nature of the fest would change in this manner (i.e. almost every band playing outside) for a while and barely hinted at it publicly until now. I can see how people would be upset. |

Not too worried. The stage setup will be similar to open air festivals i'm guessing (except under a freeway overpass rather than a farm field or something). An Open Air MDF one day (with camping etc like european fests) would rule. |

From the MDF Facebook page:
"Well, here's another billing change to report. Due to a "VARIETY of personal issues and matters with one of the members", Exodus will not be performing at MDF XI. We're just reporting the info we receive, folks.
Sacred Reich have been confirmed to fill the vacant space on Sunday at MDF. " |

Awesome, I would much rather see Sacred Reich than watch Larry the cable guy butcher old Exodus songs. _________________ http://frostrot.bandcamp.com/

I liked the indoor stage for smaller bands when it wasn't completely packed but last year it impossible for bands like YOB and Nasum. I will miss the aircon although I hope the new stage will be in shade _________________ www.mendicantmusic.com |

Itll be Thursday night at the Sidebar, which is a block away from the fest. Stay tuned for details as I get them. This show isnt part of MDF, but itll start once MDF closes. So after Bolt Thrower, come on down to the Sidebar for some Iron City Death Doom! Spread the word!" |
Is this show still happening? _________________ Good sellers/traders: metalmac, greenmonster, Transcendence, GoldenBull, Paria
