I heard the self-titled ep back in the day and kinda liked a few tracks off Beyond The Apocalypse. Sounded like a more brutal version of Gorgoroth's Destroyer. Don't know the rest. Any of it worth a damn?

First 3 albums are good, Hellfire being the best.

Then they fucked-up, even though some songs of Demonoir sounded decent.

I really loved Beyond The Apocalypse and Revelations of the Black Flame but the rest just didn't resonate with me that much. I was disappointed that they didn't continue on the path of the latter a bit further. I've only listened to Demonoir a few times, but nothing ever inspired me to put it back on again.

"I Breathe Spears" from the debut is a Hell of a track title though Very Happy

First two albums are all one needs from this band.

The drum sound on Hellfire is really good. The band are ok but I got sick of them very quickly I wouldn't bother listening to them again unless I was going to see them live. They are really good live.

Does anything from Revelations... pop up in their live set very often?

The only time I went to see them they failed to turn up. Some horrid Enslaved/Zyklon B gig in London, which thus far is the worst one I've actually attended.

I saw them on that tour as well in 06 and I thought they were good but the sound was really bad for 1349 which was apparently the way the band wanted it. Last time I saw them was was when they toured Europe in 2011 they played that Maggot Fetus song not sure if they played any other songs from that album because I don't know the last two albums that well.

The best I ever saw them was at Hellfest in 07 whey they played in the tent everything was just perfect for that gig.

I saw them with Gorgoroth in 04. Wasn't too impressive except for Frost's drumming.

Never liked this band. Still, I didn't expect so many people to go for the 'frostbitten gayness' option.

That's actually why I made it a poll. 1349 came out in a time when
it was easy to score scenepoints simply for not having keyboards. But times change, and I thought it would be interesting to see how people felt about them today.

It's simply more entertaining to me then to discuss a band on who's status we all agree, and that is why I'm here -to entertain me. Hence the threads on Satyricon and later Mayhem etc. I've come to a point where I know the classics in and out, and that has inspired me to give some of the less popular albums by bands that I like a serious listen.
