I've been listening to Forests of Witchery a lot lately. Any news on this band? Any similar bands? _________________ In death |

The news for a long time already has been that there might or might not be a third full-length. Sami can't seem to say anything definite on the issue. Similar bands, well, old Gehenna (First, Second and Third Spell) and Wanderer's part of the Wanderer/Wintermoon split. |

There are plans for vinyl editions but just like the bands current state, the progress is very sloooowww...
As for similiar artists, Liturgia (Fin) could be added as well. _________________ Heavy Metal Nuts

Rumor has it that while recording some old Thy Serpent album, Sami Tenetz made such a poor job that the rest of the band re-recorded all of his guitars when he went out to get food. _________________ §:-Ğl |

And Sami, the "leader" of the band, did not find out about this? Seems rather strange.
Anyway, "Forests Of Witchery" needs to be released on lp. It's a classic.
The "Death" mlp as well for that matter. _________________ www.UnbornProductions.com

There might be some truth in that. On Lords of twilight there is one leftout track from Witchery sessions and guitars are quite fucked up at one point.
About similar artists, that new October Falls sample had quite Thy Serpent vibe. And for later Thy Serpent, it sounds much like Rapture (they share same guitarist) _________________ Mors fennico more |

Funny thing and a perfect example how small is the "Finnish-scene", the drummer of October Falls is also in Thy Serpent and the previous (or current, no idea what's their current status) bass-player of Rapture is on October Falls too. Yet, as the song-writer of OF, with the exception of great Death Ep, I've not really checked the earlier Thy Serpent. I think I should. |

He's a part of the Beherit lineup as of now. Never bothered with Thy Serpent. What's their best material? _________________

To speak for the audience it would probably go to Forests of Witchery or Death minialbum.
But then to my personal opinion in which I really can't skip Christcrusher since it holds so much memories being a teenager. The main lead in Chambers of a Starwatcher is a hellofa way to start an album! And also the lyrics for the S/T song, they're cheesy as fuck and yet somehow so evil |

Never liked Christcrusher. And even that albums title song has only caught me with it's stolen Satyricon riff from Nemesis Divina.
Forests and Death ep do it perfectly. _________________ Heavy Metal Nuts

FOW album is definitely a masterpiece of finnish BM! But honesly, from what i have heard of October Falls, it's different from Thy Serpent (and really less interesting!) _________________ https://www.facebook.com/ysengrin.official |
