I really don't see anything wrong with one release per year, as a fan/customer I appreciate that. And few artists could keep the objective quality standard of their work through their whole career. I am not forced to buy every release either.

Me neither, except in the Burzum case where there are obvious fillers on the albums. Sad

Yes. But fillers seem to be an unavoidable problem for 95% of all musicians/bands. Even Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath had some in their prime.

first 6 of each were almost flawless with few filler-tracks.
number of fillers increased with ongoing career. seems to be a principle.
this line leads to varg or slayer with almost every new shit being a filler Wink

yeah, we as fans aren't forced to buy the albums. but isn't it of the bands deepest interest that we buy EVERY album of them?

People should stop confusing "filler" with "songs I don't like". "Paranoid" was a filler track, for example.

Wrong, it was only intended as a filler.

I have more faith in this album than his previous 3. I always thought the ambient parts of his old black metal albums were great.

This "album" is not even confirmed as even recorded yet.
Wait till he announces it first before bitching either way about it.

Well, Tomhet track IS his best work so...

I'll check the new album. I've ignored the previous ones, but the prospect of "relaxing, slow-paced, contemplative" instrumental music won me over. It could be good?

Varg is traitor of Black Metal for stabbing Euro and should be ignored by all true disciples and I certainly will never forgive him. No support.

Looking forward to it. Umskiptar was good and showed that he was further expanding his sound, and this should be on par with Hlidjskalf at least. It will be solid, but nothing mindblowing.
