Wouldn't mind trading places with him myself |
I wouldn't mind dropping the years if I could keep the experience. Haha _________________ http://www.darkdescentrecords.com |

That's why I put "". I mean old in the sense that I no longer buy magazines to discover bands, and I know hundred of bands now. |

Really? The last thing on Earth I'd ever want to be is one of these modern know-it-all MP3 base-dwellers with an Internet-derived knowledge of the genre. I never thank God enough for being born in the '70ies and having had the chance to experience metal at its peak. _________________ Permabanned |

Don't take my words too literally, you know I don't have a problem with young metal fans as long as their attitude is honest. I enjoy reading Humus' posts for instance, he's lots younger than me yet approaches the genre with genuine passion for the music and no scenester behaviour. But when I read of kids who discovered Slayer in 2001 and call other people "newcomers" I lose control. _________________ Permabanned |

Too bad USSR didn't kill your family back in the day, so we would be free of your retard/tourette guy posts now. |

A Slayer tour in 2013 would be hella gay with the original lineup
A Slayer show in 2013 with half the lineup would only be slightly more gay |

I dunno, they were good days and all with some fine memories but I don't get too nostalgic. There was a lot of shit then too and a lot of posers hanging around. I remember all the older guys around my city in 1992 complaining about us young snotty kids who thought we knew it all when we weren't around in 1984 when BATHORY was released or we didn't know MORBID ANGEL demos. If anything I wish I was born 10 years earlier |

Could be, but even the dumbest and gayest '80ies hairmetal faggot was still a more worthwhile individual than the average Xasthur/DTL fan of today. _________________ Permabanned |

you draw this comparison all the time, but really is Xasthur even THAT relevant at this point? I can think of far more annoying, and in addition Xasthur or "black metal" fans didn't become so intolerable until labels like Hydra Head started pumping and promoting bands such as Xasthur, thus dragging in the annoying beardo crowd, and spearheading an entire beardo USBM movement of post metal inspired BM. your typical I play BM today, and Neurosis is my ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND types. I don't think Xasthur is so much to blame as the labels, but I guess it was his choice to pair with HH in the first place
also, Xasthur and DTL do not really sound much alike... DTL has certainly never produced a Nocturnal Poisoning _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |
