I think that if Smith had remained their sound would be bogged down in things even worse than lousy Blood Oath.
With Dave Culross Hobbs can afford to press on the accelerator and luckily it was with Pinnacle Of Bedlam.

Well he is more Suffocation at any case..
Beside that i mean that Smith was also kinda manager of a band as i remember, and well, i dont imagine that such video would appear if he still will be around... i like when people can smile or laught, but this looks like average deathcore video already  |

Please do not get me wrong guys. I love everything Mike has done with the band, but his work (as a manager and as a musician) on Blood Oath is a failure in my opinion.
His work on 'S/T' is phenomenal, but after, something changed.
He wanted to take the band on more technical areas and reasoned approach like bands as Obscura, Psycroptic, Decrepit Birth or Deeds Of Flesh.
And in truth, this direction has nothing to do with Suffocation.
With Culross, however this risk is not there and thanks to Hobbs, in the new album are back to play brutal in their own way.
