Im hoping ill still be able to grab the Stargazer split and the other 7" soon. Its been on the site for a while now but I feel like once it really sets in how good Sacriphyx is people snatch them up.
also why was it not selling before? the record with resuscitator is a really awesome deal. |

No hype/gimmick I guess is the reason it doesn't sell. I've been telling everyone I can about them for a couple years now. Few listen, but the ones that have fell in love instantly! I agree that the old material will probably disappear soon after people hear the debut. Better get it now.... |

These two releases are damn near at the opposite ends of the spectrum of music that NWN! releases, and each is pretty much perfect in its own way.
Along with the Necrofago record, Necrobutcher may be the noisiest and least musical release from NWN! so far. Simply INCREDIBLE primitive metal/grind/hardcore at its finest. The sticker on the jacket calls it "deathcore grind noise" and I can't imagine a better description. It's like Sore Throat covering Hellhammer. I can already tell that I'll be returning to this many times.
And then there's the Sacriphyx album... more than worth the wait, that's for sure, and an instant contender for album of the year already. There's no question it'll end up on my shortlist. The lyrics are poetic without being cheesy, the melancholy moments rival Warning without getting maudlin (and of course dealing with entirely different subject matter), and the music is sublime. Pretty much the perfect blend of heavy metal and death metal. Only Arghoslent has ever really pulled this off before. Sacriphyx's previous releases were excellent, but this is damn near perfect. I put it on my turntable and didn't take it off until I'd listened to it all the way through 3 times, and even then it was a challenge.
