I'm looking for recommendations for good underground black/death metal from Canada, obscure and or new bands is fine. Recently I discovered Burialkult and I'm pretty impressed by their live vids and songs, so I ordered their only release so far, their EP "Evil Antichrist Hordes" and I have high hopes it will be decent. I've also been really impressed by Necroholocaust and I bought their split EP with Blasphemophagher, that is some devestating war black metal, just what I'm into!

Here's a song from Burialkult's upcoming album:

List those 'tons' of others please Razz
Fuck, I live here and all that in Canada, but the local country bands just don't spread the word enough it would seem.

For example, picked up a Dire Omen tape at a local show I happend to happen upon, never heard bare a whisper about them afore that gig. Laughing ...thats the same city.

So make a list please. Twisted Evil

Chthe'ilist is the best I've heard that seems to be impossible to obtain a copy of anything from other than online stealing.

The production is horrible.
Like the Adversarial material prior to the split with Antidiluvian that is.

Is there good songs buried under the absolutely terrible production? ...perhaps, but who was the mix/master that fucked these guys over?

there is always someone around to fuck it up, it seems whether it's incompetance or mediocrity.
I'll never forget loading my drums into producer-engineer Keith Cleversley's Chicago studio and he tells me "I don't like double bass".
Rolling Eyes
Anyway, CANADA and South America are both off the hook right now with good music. They both been ignored and now they're busting out.

???

You can hear each riff, the production is not bad at all, and I would even say that this sulfurous production is almost perfect for this kind of bestial Death Metal, really heavy and dirty.
