Not surprising, considering we're in 2013. There are a lot of academical works in sub-cultures, urban or not. It was a matter of time that researchs about BM scenes would appear.
Granted, I -like most- know nothing about the serbian BM scene and I think it isn't too much known outside...
But I think with the investigative / informative aspect, plus the sociology, plus the aesthetical / phylosophical related issues, you can reach the needed amount of pages. _________________ http://voices-defying-death.blogspot.com.ar/ |

Generally the more narrow you focus your efforts on, the more in depth you can make your work. For instance, most people would find it a lot easier to research and write at length about Hitler's handwriting style than they would an overview of WWII. _________________ Ignivomous merch: abaddon_963[at]hotmail.com

The UK is the only nation with universities offering degrees in Beatle-ology. This doesn't surprise me.
It's a pretty cool thing to discuss with your hot 23 year old co-worker at the local coffee shop about though. Though I'm sure she will get sick of you asking to call you "Doctor", and realize you're terrible in bed after half a lay. _________________

As I said, there really isn't much to be known about metal here. Some good older bands (Bombarder) and a few decent (yet generic) bm albums is all the scene offers. RAC is on the other hand pretty well spread all over the country, there's a decent skinhead scene in Belgrade and despite all problems with the police (it's impossible to organize any sort of remotely "nationalistic" gig, the government thinks whichever form of patriotic demonstrations may degenerate into riots and give the nation an even worse name/reputation, thus compromising the efforts made to get the country into UE) several local bands managed to make it to the media -some on tv even. Not sure if you're already familiar with these but I'll recommend you to check Direktna Akcija, Providjenje, Revolt BGD, Direktori, Ritam Nereda (more like metalcore) and Kristalna Noc.
