Too bad I didn't see a MGLA 12" been sold. I got the new Terraturs into my Possessions. Too many people, too much merch. Fuck it.

Could this fest have been better? I think not. What an amazing weekend...

Both thumbs up! That Canadian fucker was a mess and got his ass kicked during Mgla already, haha. And that "Dark Sonority"-shirt guy in the front row during Vemod was a fucking pain in the ass as well. Seemed to be a friend or something of the guys, but behaved like Vemod was an RAC-band or something like that..

But nevertheless. Best festival/performances ever in one of the shittiest cities worldwide. Brussels already proved that in December 2011 when Mare, OTOH and stuff played as well.

Weird. Brussels is a nice quiet beautiful town to me.
Never had any problems there. Spent a pleasant relaxing day there Saturday before the fest´s final onslaught.
It´s so much more agreeable and quiet than Paris...

Biggest WTF moment was Sepultura's "war for territory" as MGLA walked onto the stage.

Short hair, red shirt? Didn't he get beaten up during Vemod? I think Kim from Lifelover did that, elbow punched him because he harassed some of Kim's female friends. Who would've thought.

But the Canadian guy started talking to me after everything was over, and what a mess he was. "I'm in Brussels and I need to find the way to Africa because Belgium? Some guy beat me up and now I need Belgium to go to Brussels because Africa. Do you have the website? I need the website. Sorry I'm drunk but Africa and Brussels..."

May have been. Short hair, about mid-height. Kept grabbing me during Mare and telling me "IT'S OK, THIS IS FUCKING HEAVY MAN."

Vemod. Simply the best live concert I have ever seen. At the end of a few long days of beer, bands and Brussels I felt pretty dead on my feet. As soon as Vemod started I was totally transfixed and invigorated. The sounds of roaring, rushing torrents, and soaring winds, as the roof opened up to transport us into the nightsky, among the stars. An atmosphere like nothing I have experienced before. When they concluded I was simply lost for words. The album/demo/split are great, but do not hold a candle to their live performance.

Absolutely on both counts. I wish we could have talked about the Vemod performance after we regained the ability to speak haha.

I wish I had of went to this instead of NWN 3. Did Mare / BM have any hoods or shirts for sale? What was the OTOH merch like?

Mare and OTOH both had shirts, but not hoods. Pretty standard fare.

Terratur Possessions sold the Mare - Offerlam shirt with the red frame.
OTOH merch was:
Logo patches
Logo pins
Black sleeveless shirt with red print
Black shirt with black print
Grey shirt with black print
Grey shirt with red print

Thanks I thought OTOH were going to print up new shirt designs for this gig and I hoped Mare would have reprinted that zip up hood and had some left over for sale after the festival.

Definitely, but like any major city it's tourists amongst the lepers.

Not the first festival where polish are behaving like assholes and for sure won't be the last.

Considering the big demand that was behind this fest and the number of people who couldn't attend only because tickets were sold in 3 days (in mid August!), I would at least hope to see a few NBM4 merch and those new releases for sale in distro at this point

Ah ok good.
I just hope the new Mare vinyl compilation wasn't limited to only 100 units. Someone let intend there were only 100 for the fest, wonder if the release was planned in more copies so if there will be others for sale soon.
No distros are carrying copies of the vinyl at the moment right?

Not that I've came across yet but I'm sure someone said that the 100 was only what was brought for the fest a few pages back. Hopefully there will be plenty, already have Spheres like death but would happily buy it again for Throne of the Thirteenth Witch.

This was truely a great fest. I'm glad I could attend all 3 days. I got drunk the first day, so I had to take a taxi to my hotel. The Chimay beer was cheap compared to my favorite café.
Vemod was pretty good actually. Also Svartidaudi, Mare/Black Majesty, Mgla Hetroertzen, Urfaust, Sargeist, OTOH killed.

I'm seeing Svartidaudi in Rotterdam in a while, so it will be good to hang with them again.

Will never forget the feeling as I entered the hall at the beginning of Hetroertzen!
This fest was pure satanic trance!

No merch and LP's for me, cause there was no place to storage the stuff. :/

And FUCK THE HEAT at the location. pff!
