The latest kids on the block so to speak are HÜRLEMENT, they're the right heir to MALEDICTION (who split up after only two albums) and their new full-lenght is actually coming out next month on EMANES...

This one is probably the best French 7"EP ever. Both songs are killer with no flaws.
And, oh, someone mentioned PONCE PILATE. This album is such an UFO among the pure Euro HM and pop-Metal that comprised most of French HM.
Another great record, and another hard-to-find one, is MARÉCAGE's self-titled MLP. Cool lyrics with a punk vibe and efficient songwriting make it one of my faves.
A cool record, one that won't probably won't get into my hands except if I get rich, is AUROCH MLP. "Les hordes sauvages", an epic classic.
And well, among easier to find bands, I recommend BLASPHÈME, the songs being poppy but the lyrics and songwriting is good, H-BOMB, VULCAIN -"Le fils de Lucifer", yeah!- and SORTILÈGE but never ever try to understand the lyrics from Larmes de héros.
