Hmm I bought Essence of Nine blindly (Eyes Like Snow is one of the best doom labels...), but it bored me like hell. Ill give it a new try. |

No I agree, it belongs to another era. It's not like Kevin Shields has been inactive ever since, and most of what he's done has been seriously underwhelming - which seems to be forgotten in all the anticipation here. Plus there's loads of stuff out there (particularly in electronica) that is influenced by MBV and gone as far out and drifty/dream-like as is possible. |

Yeah, I heard about that yesterday from my spouse. I haven't listened to it yet, though. Going to wait until I'm not half-dead with illness, because right now everything sounds terrible/painful. |

| Final Ultima Thule album is due to be released. Not sure how it will be given I don't think they've released a good studio album since "Sweden" (which is really good). |

Rest of the album is great. Well worth the cash, and first Voivod album I've purchased since "Angel Rat."
Now to go check out this new MBV... hard to believe it exists. _________________

I'll be honest, I like MBV's "Isn't Anything" WAY more than "Loveless", which I always regarded as overrated. That said, I love MBV and the notion that a new album is out (coming out?) is awful to my sensibilities. I guess I'll have to listen and give it a chance. _________________ Helcaraxë - Epic Heathen Death Metal

Also, new Bad Religion is much better than the previous (horrible) record. More true-to-form. Though I've noticed that the Graffin-written songs are always so much better than the Brett-written songs. _________________ Helcaraxë - Epic Heathen Death Metal
