I don't know the previous albums and based on what I've heard I don't care. This is not bad though. The sound in particular should be complimented - very natural and gives the music a nice pulse.
Of course it sounds a lot like WITTR and there's too much of what I'd describe as half-planned acoustic sections, but the metal on this disc does make it worth it.
I just hope I haven't fallen into a hipster trap.
