cultofvomit: what stories are you referring to from singer of Ancient from his time in Italy? Did he try to bite people on the neck and make hissing sounds like a little cat? At least he did when he was in Bergen when he visited back from Italy several years ago. Never liked him. ahahah, well nothing like this (unluckily hahah), just a quite funny "rockstar" attitude... once they were playing in front of no more than 35 people and they blamed for the poor audience with such arguments: "oh, we have played in front of 50.000 people in wacken, what's that?"... after few song the guy asked "do you want MOOORRE!!!!??? EH???" the hall answered with a perfect silence, no one single noise, so they stopped to play. what an attitude. also their "cradle of filth like" pictures were quite funny, generally interviews in italian magazines were stupid and "wannabes" at its worst.
anyway, nice to see a norwegian doesn't feel offended at all, hope you get my point against the "norsecore", i'm still venerating the old gods (pure holocaust is an unique album, i worship him, and the true mayhem, well, no words needed)

finland (for beherit and imp.naz. in the 90ies AND ESPECIALLY those great bands forming on the edge to 2000 like c.b., behexen, prevalent resistance, baptism, sargeist etc.)
norway (for obvious reasons AND the return of norge-BM from trondheim)
sweden (for some old bands and more for the "middle aged" bands such as ofermod, fun.mist, ondskapt, watain, craft AND for talented shit like all Sir N./ancient rec. bands)
poland (for the early to mid 90ies AND mgla + cultes des ghoules)
some notes to my home country: we had our moments and strong releases just from mayhemic truth, nagelfar, martyrium, absurd, eternity, wolfsmond, katharsis, t.r.o.b. (!!), s.o.t.m., lunar aurora, coldworld, tha-norr, ascension, nargaroth, ungod, luror, vargsang, graven, etc.
don't forget the label structure especially in the 90ies: no colours, malicious, solistitium and maybe merciless rec. have spread important BM releases (oh, and Turbo for releasing beherit and acheron, haha) |

Obviously so. Whoever has a brain that works and isn't completely deaf should be able to see the immense talent of Norway's finest bands and their clear importance in shaping post '92 stuff -metal just hasn't been the same since Darkthrone made it big. Granted, not that it was always a good thing (no matter how much I love the album, I think Transilvanian Hunger was the worst disgrace ever in the history of the genre, given the amounts of shitty clones it spawned -but hey, can DT be held responsible for that?), but still.
That being said, I think cultofvomit has a point somewhere in the middle of his broken English gobbledygook and retarded "I HEARD THAT/SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT" girlish Italowhining. There is just no way a nation like Spain can score three votes whereas Italy is still waiting for its first, I mean the Necromass album alone smokes the shit out of everything has ever come out of Spain. And of course pre-2000 French black metal is a joke, no one with a decent insight on metal can ever take LLN's stuff seriously. Then again, there's no point arguing with try hards who think Sargeist is Norwegian and include Nargaroth in their list of good German bands.
