Considering the lyrical themes, how is this ”wtf” in any way?
Bathory - Pace 'til death riff + Burzum "wow" + Darkthrone "Nocturno culto!" were the first things I thought of. |
It's an odd choice of word. Filthy, stained, rotten, etc. would have sounded much less childish.

| At about halfway of the track Winter of Cleansing of Godless Norths Summon the Age of Supremacy album, there is a slow part and there's one part of that that I don't really like, it sounds a bit happy or something. There always felt something a bit wrong with that part. Apart from that it's a very good album! |

This might sound kind of goofy - but I always thought the sing-songy nursery ryhme quality to GBK and to a degree Arghoslent (at times) lyrics (and even riffs) has an almost clockwork orange-esque quality to them. Not intentional of course, and I don't mean LITERALLY clockwork orange (just the same concept) - but just that 'we are most happy when employing extreme violence' kind of element. It manages to come across as deathly serious in a joking / mocking fashion. It's pretty brilliant and original in my opinion. And not totally unlike RAC/oi sort of themes of destroying / fighting / employing violence for the pure sake of it. |

I never thought of that, but I do agree I think. Anyways, I don't think "mucky" is a childish word.

On the inside of the LP it says Hitler. It's scratched out, though.

The intro to "Fast As a Shark" by Accept. I can still remember hearing that for the first time when I was like 11 years old, and thinking "what the hell am I listening to???". Of course, the situation is remedied very quickly when the real song kicks in!

Totally agreed. I don't usually expound on these sorts of things going on in my brain, because I think "Oh, everyone thinks this." Maybe I should talk more.
