Where the fuck did you get that from?
The point was that this sounds like entirely mediocre stuff that simply makes you want to listen to the original. If it was good "homage", then I'd have been fine with it. I thought I made that pretty clear when I answered the question about Midnight, Speedwolf, etc.
I also have no interest is "kvlt" pissing contests...shit, I was one of the most vocal supporters of Ghost when that thread kept popping up every few days. Good stuff is good regardless of it's age, popularity, or reputation. This is simply not good stuff.

From what I just heard of this pile of shit Darkthrone release, the track you posted is just short of 3000x better. It actually sounds more like darkthrone than new darkthrone does. |

Bad example. You see, to me Black Metal is Black Metal, Darkthrone or Blut Der Nacht. Some I might like some it's just a fuzz in my ears. I enjoy old Graveland and Darkthrone but I also like their newer albums as well. Most bands lose my interest after 2 or 3 songs. Not too many bands are able to release a solid album these days. And that's why I prefer BM in small doses with very few exceptions.
And the Blut Der Nacht track you posted is actually ok. And this is coming from me, a dork who enjoys Amon Amarth and Dark Tranquillity 
And I'm looking forward to hearing the new Darkthrone.

Anybody who was expecting something that resembles the Darkthrone of old is simply not paying attention and/or delusional. I can't recall a Darkthrone album being released (first one I was "conscious" for was 'Hate Them') to as much hype as 'The Underground Resistance'. Most bands die out long before their 25th anniversary, yet Darkthrone is as relevant as ever (they were quite ahead of the curve on this boom in interest for new bands doing old school worship [particularly heavy and speed metal]). |
