USPS postage increase Jan 27th. 3-5% domestic some outrageous amount international. International flat rate Priority Mail will go up significantly from what I hear.
USPS is the most mismanaged business ever. Those monkeys are running it into the ground. Sooner or later it'll be cheaper to send by UPS or Fedex. _________________ Contact: nwnprod@gmail.com

"The inefficiencies of government operation are compounded by several other factors. As we have seen, a government enterprise competing in an industry can usually drive out private owners, since the government can subsidize itself in many ways and supply itself with unlimited funds when desired. Thus, it has little incentive to be efficient. In cases where it cannot compete even under these conditions, it can arrogate to itself a compulsory monopoly, driving out competitors by force."

Fuck. Hardly remember when I ordered records from US for the last time (they were 2 latest Blackdeath LPs), but shopping in US online stores (especially boots one) is already a tradition of our whole KDS crew for several years... Won't change that, of corpse, but definitely fuck it. Very much. _________________ Kiss My Coffin!

How about taking away the expensive pensions? You won't find many pensions in the private market, because defined benefit plans are difficult to manage. If the USPS charged the market rate for postage and wasn't a profit neutral government agency, these problems wouldn't exist. |

Read my previous post. They are forced to fund pensions for years.

this is ridiculous. depending on the severity of the increase I might consider ceasing all international sales myself. as if dealing with the post office hassle when you have to mail them out wasn't enough, now we will also have to field complaints/questions about shipping rates and why they are so high. long story short, not worth it! _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

Great article explaining about the postal service being forced to fund pensions for workers 75 years into the future (workers not even born yet), while no other institution is forced to do this. Which, as stated earlier is an effort to force it into privatization. It blew my mind when I first read this, after hearing lies for so many years...

I know what the act created, but the petition doesn't call for the abandonment of the pension. It merely calls for funding a shorter period. I'm saying the pensions shouldn't exist. If the employees want to save for their retirement, create a defined contribution plan, not a defined benefit plan. |

I personally don't give a shit if postal workers are paid pension as long as postage remains reasonable. The retarded increase in postage is due to this specific law being implented. _________________ Contact: nwnprod@gmail.com
